Broad left out of T20 side

Captain Stuart Broad has revealed that he will play no part in England's Twenty20 clash against New Zealand this evening.

The decision has been taken to give the bowler a rest ahead of the Ashes, which gets underway next month.

Despite admitting that he is "disappointed" to have been left out, the 26-year-old has conceded that he can "fully understand" the reasoning behind the verdict.

"Disappointed not to be playing or captaining in tonight's t20 game but fully understand the logic with our schedule. #Ashes," he wrote on Twitter.

Broad was appointed captain of the T20 side in May 2011.
