Stuart Broad hypes "powerful" England batting lineup

Stuart Broad insists that England's current ODI batting lineup is the most powerful that he has ever played with after it amasses over 750 runs in its last two innings.

Fast bowler Stuart Broad has insisted that England's current one-day international batting lineup is the most powerful that he has ever played with.

England made 391-6 in victory over an Australian Prime Minister's XI on Wednesday, having amassed 364-6 in their previous warm-up match.

Critics have questioned the explosiveness of England's batting ranks and its ability to post big totals, but Broad does not feel that there can be doubts anymore.

"Nearly 800 runs in our last 100 overs batting. Without doubt the most powerful batting line up I've ever played with," he tweeted.

Ian Bell smashed 187 off 145 balls in Canberra and had able support from Moeen Ali and James Taylor, who both made 71, as England prepared for their tri-series with Australia and India with another victory.

Joe Root, captain Eoin Morgan, wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and Ravi Bopara are likely to make up the rest of the top seven for their opening World Cup game against Australia on February 14.
