Ben Stokes ruled out of third Test

England all-rounder Ben Stokes will play no part in the third Test against Pakistan after tearing a muscle in his calf.

The Durham player was forced to leave the field in the afternoon session on day four of England's 330-run victory at Old Trafford on Monday after pulling up while bowling.

It has been confirmed by the ECB that an MRI scan detected the tear and Stokes will be reviewed by the England medical team next week in Birmingham.

The 13-man squad for the upcoming Test at Edgbaston includes seamer Jake Ball, pace bowler Steven Finn and leg-spinner Adil Rashid.

The four-Test series currently sits at 1-1.

England squad:

Alastair Cook (Essex) (Capt) Moeen Ali (Worcestershire) James Anderson (Lancashire) Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire) Gary Ballance (Yorkshire) Jake Ball (Nottinghamshire) Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire) Steven Finn (Middlesex) Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire) Adil Rashid (Yorkshire) Joe Root (Yorkshire) James Vince (Hampshire) Chris Woakes (Warwickshire)
