Trevor Bayliss: 'England up for Yasir Shah test'

Trevor Bayliss claims that England are ready for the challenge of facing Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah in the second Test.

England coach Trevor Bayliss has insisted that his players are ready to face in-form Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah in the second Test, which gets underway in Dubai on Thursday.

Shah missed the first Test at Abu Dhabi with a back problem, but is expected to feature in the second game, with the series level following Saturday's draw.

However, Bayliss has suggested that his team is keen to prove themselves against the best in the game and will not shy away from facing Shah.

He told Sky Sports: "The boys want to be the best team in the world. That means you've got to play the best players and he is the best player.

"The 'beast' at this level, the egos are right up there - they want to play the best and show the best that they are better than them. I'm sure these guys will be looking forward to pitting themselves against the best.

"Win, lose or draw, they will want to show him they can play him as well as any of these other players."

England drew the first Test after bad light stopped play, with the tourists only 25 runs short of an unlikely victory.
