James Anderson becomes first man to take 400 wickets for England

Anderson takes 400th wicket for England

James Anderson has taken his 400th Test wicket for England during the third over of the second Test match with New Zealand at Headingley.

The 32-year-old, who recently became England's leading wicket-taker, had Martin Guptill caught by Ian Bell at slip for a duck.

Anderson becomes the first England player to reach the milestone 12 years since he made his Test debut against Zimbabwe, while today's achievement arrives in his 104th appearance in the five-day format of the game.

The Lancashire seamer is closing in on a total of 700 wickets for his country, with a further 269 wickets being taken in one-day internationals and 18 in Twenty20 cricket.
