Good morning and welcome to live text coverage of the opening game between New Zealand and England in the three-match Twenty20 series.

The hosts will be hoping to take an early lead in Auckland as they look to record a series victory over the former world champions.

England suffered a loss in their final warm-up match earlier in the week but will have been given a boost by the news that Ian Butler and Grant Elliott will be missing for their rivals.

Please note, play is due to begin at 6am.

NZ 127-4Franklin is the new batsman and he combines well with Munro to find 10 from the first five balls. Munro looks a good player and he hits two big sixes in the over off Tredwell.
