Toss for fourth Test between England, India at Old Trafford delayed

The toss for the fourth Test between England and India at Old Trafford has been delayed due to rain.

The covers were on this morning ahead of the encounter, which prompted the umpires to carry out a pitch inspection at 10.45am, just 15 minutes before play was due to get underway.

It has been decided that day one of the fourth Test will begin at 11.30am and will run until 7pm this evening in Greater Manchester.

The series currently stands at 1-1 after England managed to overcome their early woe to secure a 266-run win and claim the third Test last week.

Questions over Alastair Cook's captaincy arose after the first two Tests, but after hitting two half-centuries, the pressure has lifted slightly off the batsman's shoulders.
