England head coach Andy Flower has stated that he expects Kevin Pietersen to travel to India for the upcoming one-day international series.
The world number one Test side are due to play India in five one-day internationals in October.
There had been suggestions that Pietersen may be rested from the tour after he missed the recent 3-0 ODI series win over the same opponents with a wrist injury, but Flower has quashed those rumours.
"That is not in our plan," said Flower. "I am not sure who in Surrey would make those judgements. They haven't come from me or the captain.
"It was a combination of injury and needing to rest. He was wearing strapping and had a cortisone injection that worked for a short period of time and then wore off.
"That wrist should be fine by now."
Uncertainty has surrounded Pietersen's future in England's one-day side but the 31-year-old has recently stated that he remains committed to playing.
England's first ODI in India takes place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday, October 14.
