Jonathan Trott to be assessed over shoulder injury

England wait on Trott injury

Jonathan Trott will be assessed this morning after picking up a shoulder injury on the second day of the second Test against India at Trent Bridge.

Trott's colleagues instantly called for medical assistance after the England number three fell awkwardly as he attempted a catch in the field.

An initial scan revealed that there was no bone damage to his shoulder.

After Alistair Cook was dismissed for five in England's second innings, Ian Bell took to the crease in place of Trott.

The hosts ended the day on 24-1, 43 runs behind India.
