England, India fourth Test halted by downpours at Old Trafford

Day two of the fourth Test between England and India suffers long delays due to wet weather at Old Trafford.

Day two of the fourth Test between England and India has been disrupted following a heavy downpour on the Old Trafford pitch.

The hosts managed to reach lunch on 201-6, leaving themselves with a 49-run advantage after bowling India all out for 152 yesterday.

However, the players were forced to leave the field with England on 237-6 in the afternoon session after rain descended onto the ground.

Since then, the rain has stopped, but large puddles of water in the outfield remain, which has resulted in a long delay for the cricketers.

Inspections were made at 4.30pm and 5pm, but the umpires are yet to make a decision regarding the resumption of play.
