England complete whitewash against India

England have completed a 4-0 series whitewash against India at the Oval.

The side won the fourth test today by an innings and eight runs.

Sachin Tendulkar and Amit Mishra had a strong partnership of 144 for India but Mishra was bowled out by Graeme Swann for 84 and Tendulkar went out to a marginal lbw decision from Rod Tucker in the following over.

Tendulkar ended a frustrating nine runs short of his landmark 100th international century.

The series with India has established England as the number one Test side in the world. India have fallen from the top to third, behind South Africa.
