England captain Eoin Morgan "proud" of victory over Scotland

England captain Eoin Morgan admits that he feels "proud" of his teammates following their 119-run victory over Scotland in the World Cup.

England captain Eoin Morgan has paid tribute to his teammates following their World Cup victory over Scotland in Pool A.

The team secured a 119-run triumph in Christchurch, which was their first win in the tournament following defeats to Australia and New Zealand.

Moeen Ali inspired England to victory following a knock of 128 runs off 107 balls, while Ian Bell also contributed with a half century and Morgan, who has struggled for runs of late, hit 46 off 42 deliveries.

"I am proud of the guys and how they fronted up and performed today," Morgan told BBC Test Match Special. "To get a result and through a potential banana skin and get points on the board is brilliant. Any runs and time in the middle is invaluable, especially considering the lack of runs I have had."

Next up for England is a clash against Sri Lanka in Wellington on Sunday.
