Report: Monty Panesar could miss fifth Ashes Test

Monty Panesar is struggling with a calf problem and could miss England's final Test match against Australia, according to a report.

England spinner Monty Panesar could reportedly miss his side's fifth and final Test of the ongoing Ashes series because of a calf injury.

According to BBC Sport, the 31-year-old has a "tight calf" and will be assessed at training before a decision is made on his availability for the match, which gets underway in Sydney on Thursday.

If Panesar misses out, then leg-spinner Scott Borthwick could replace him and make his Test debut, although off-spinner James Tredwell could also be included in the team.

Hosts Australia are currently 4-0 up in the five-match series.
