Monty Panesar named in England's Ashes squad

Monty Panesar has been named in the England squad for the winter Ashes series in Australia.

There are also call-ups for Michael Carberry, Gary Ballance, Ben Stokes and Boyd Rankin. However, Tim Bresnan misses out along with Graham Onions and Nick Compton.

Panesar last played a Test for England on their tour of New Zealand in March before off-field problems saw him left out of the side.

Meanwhile, there are places for regulars such as Alastair Cook, Jonathan Trott, Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Graeme Swann.
