Boycott voices Swann concern

Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott has admitted he is worried that the conditions in Australia may end up nullifying the threat of spin-bowler Graeme Swann.

The 34-year-old struggled to find any turn on the Brisbane pitch, having ended the first Australian innings with figures of 0-80 and 2-135 during the second innings.

"It's a worry for England about Graeme Swann because he is 30% of the bowling attack. If he doesn't have a big effect, England are seriously depleted. I thought he might get some turn at Adelaide but I've since heard it's going to be flat. It will turn at Sydney too, but we might be out of the series by then," Boycott told BBC Sport.

Swann took 15 Australian wickets during the previous Ashes in Australia three years ago.
