Australia again dominated on day two of the first Test against the West Indies, but the tourists showed some late heart to give themselves hope of staying alive in the match.
After scoring more runs than they ever have in one day against the Caribbean nation on day one, Adam Voges and Shaun Marsh returned to the crease this morning looking to build their huge fourth-wicket stand.
The duo went on to achieve the highest-ever fourth-wicket stand and the sixth-highest ever partnership with 449 before Marsh fell for 182 off the bowling of Jomel Warrican.
Voges was joined at the crease by Mitchell Marsh, but the hosts soon declared on 583-4 at lunch, with Voges unbeaten on 269.
Josh Hazlewood took the first West Indian wicket in the ninth over by trapping Kraigg Braithwaite (2) lbw and Rajendra Chandrika (25) soon followed off the bowling of Nathan Lyon.
Number three Darren Bravo provided some resistance, but the tourists' middle-order crumbled before Kemar Roach was able to put on a stand with Bravo.
The duo's seventh-wicket partnership stands at 91 at the end of day two, with the Windies 207-6 and 376 behind the Aussie total.
