Australia dominate day one of fourth Test by reaching 300 against India

Australia dominate day one of the fourth Test against India by reaching stumps at the SCG on 348-2.

Australia have dominated day one of the fourth Test against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground by reaching stumps on 348-2.

David Warner, who has impressed for the Aussies over the course of the series, continued his strong form alongside opener Chris Rogers after the hosts won the toss and elected to bat.

The pair racked up a combined 200 runs before Warner was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin after a knock of 101, which included 16 boundaries.

India looked to gain some momentum when Mohammed Shami bowled out Rogers (95) just four runs later, but it was short-lived as Shane Watson and Steven Smith comfortably led the attack.

Both eased to half-centuries and India's bowlers were frustrated as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav and Suresh Raina all failed to pick up a wicket on day one.

Watson (61 not out) and Smith (82 not out) will return to the crease for the morning session on day two.
