South Africa go into tea on the fourth day of their second Test match against Australia at 40-2, needing another 390 runs to win it.

South Africa need another 390 runs to register a win against Australia in their second Test match at Adelaide.

The visitors have gone into tea on the fourth day at 40-2 after Australia declared their second innings on 267-8, setting their opponents a victory target of 430 runs.

Alviro Petersen is currently unbeaten on 20 runs for South Africa, while Jacques Rudolph is on 2.

Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla fell early in the second innings for South Africa.
