Haddin named vice-captain in Australia Ashes squad

Australia have revealed that Brad Haddin will be their vice-captain for their Ashes series with England this summer.

The 35-year-old replaces Shane Watson, who relinquished the role earlier this month following their series whitewash by India.

Both players have made the 16-man party for the series, which also includes the uncapped bowler James Faulkner, meaning that Mitchell Johnson misses out on a place in the squad.

Michael Clarke captains a squad of which only five of the 16 players listed have previously played an Ashes Test in England.

Australia Ashes squad: Michael Clarke (captain), Brad Haddin (vice-captain), Jackson Bird, Ed Cowan, James Faulkner, Ryan Harris, Phil Hughes, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, James Pattinson, Chris Rogers, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Shane Watson.
