Clarke: "I may never play again"

Michael Clarke has admitted that he may never play cricket again after limping out of Australia's first Test against India earlier today.

The captain pulled up with a hamstring problem in the field as the team headed towards a 48-run victory, having struggled with the injury throughout and in the build-up to the match in Adelaide.

"I had a scan and the results are not fantastic. I'm going to struggle to make any more part in the series," BBC Sport quotes the 33-year-old as saying.

"There's a chance I may never play again. I've got to be honest with myself."

Clarke had to retire injured for a time in the first innings, but returned to hit a century for the home side.
