Australia captain George Bailey: 'Bowling crucial to toppling India'

Australia skipper George Bailey says that consistent bowling from his team is the key to beating the world's number one side India in the upcoming ODI series.

Australia captain George Bailey has said that consistent bowling will be the key to beating the world's number one side India in the upcoming one-day international series.

The pair meet in the first of seven ODIs in Pune tomorrow, and Bailey has highlighted the hosts' batting as their strongest weapon.

"They are a very well-balanced side and we have to combat that. We are in a reasonable position to do that," Bailey told reporters.

"I feel their batting is very strong. They bat right through to eight and nine. Their top seven are really strong. But if you focus too much on one batter, then another one is going to jump up and hurt you.

"So it is important to be consistent across the board and knowing that if we are going to bowl them out, keep them to a manageable target, we have to bowl well."

India won Thursday's Twenty20 match in Rajkot by six wickets.
