Australia's Fawad Ahmed hails "amazing" 2015 after Test match call-up

Fawad Ahmed is "pretty hopeful" of making his Test match debut for Australia against the West Indies.

Australian spinner Fawad Ahmed has said that he "can't wait" to make his Test match debut, after he was named in the 16-man squad to tour the West Indies in June.

The 33-year-old will also travel to England for the Ashes this summer, and he hopes that he can carry his domestic form into the international arena after he finished as the Sheffield Shield's leading wicket taker.

He told reporters: "I'm so proud. I've represented [Australia] already in the one-day and T20. Hopefully if I get an opportunity to play a Test match it's going be amazing.

"I'm pretty hopeful and I can't wait to wear that baggy green and represent my country in red-ball cricket as well. It has been an amazing 2015 for me. I had an opportunity to play for Victoria. We won the Shield and being the top wicket-taker and to perform in the grand final was amazing and a dream for me."

Ahmed has 125 wickets in 36 first-class matches.
