Australia batsman Steve Smith has conceded that he felt "nervous" before today's World Cup final against New Zealand.
Playing in front of a home crowd in Melbourne, the Aussies won by seven wickets to lift the trophy for a fifth time.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Smith, who scored an unbeaten 56, said: "I don't normally get nervous but there were a lot of nerves at the start of the day.
"The whole bowling unit produced the goods and to be only chasing 180 on this ground was unbelievable.
"What a way to finish. We said today it was the batters' turn to step up, but it was the bowlers who did it for us again."
In total, Smith scored 402 runs during the tournament, the sixth highest contribution from a batsman.
