Australian Chris Rogers to retire after Ashes series

Rogers sets retirement date

Australia opening batsman Chris Rogers has said that he is likely to retire from Test cricket after the Ashes series this summer.

The 37-year-old has only recently established himself in international cricket after years of ruthless domestic run-scoring.

However, he intends to quit this summer after his third series against England.

He told Fox Sports: "I'm very happy, I've been pretty fortunate to have this second go at it and have loved every moment of it. But time calls on everyone and I think it's nearly up for me.

"I think to go out in the Ashes and in England where I've played a lot of cricket is pretty fitting."

Rogers has scored four centuries and averages 39.35.
