Australian radio station to pay Darren Lehmann's fine

Radio station Triple M announce that they will pay the fine of Australia coach Darren Lehmann after he was punished by the ICC for inappropriate comments regarding Stuart Broad.

The Australian radio station that broadcast Darren Lehmann's controversial comments regarding England bowler Stuart Broad has offered to pay the coach's fine.

Triple M have announced that they will cover the Australia head coach's fine, which amounts to 20% of his match fee, after the ICC punished him for calling on Aussie fans to make Broad "cry" during the return Ashes series.

A statement from the station, who interviewed Lehmann earlier this week, said: "Triple M can't let Boof take all the blame for something that happened on our station. He's a mate and a great bloke and we'll be coughing up the match fine on his behalf."

Lehmann's comments relate to Broad's refusal to walk after an edge during the first Test at Trent Bridge.
