Australia opener Chris Rogers faces further health tests ahead of Ashes return

Australian opener Chris Rogers is set to undergo further medical assessments before he can be cleared to play in the third Ashes Test.

Rogers had to retire ill from the second innings of his side's series-levelling win last week after complaining of dizziness.

The problem stemmed from being hit on the helmet by a short ball from Jimmy Anderson two days earlier.

Cricket Australia have confirmed that the 37-year-old will be tested further on Friday before a decision will be made whether he lines up for the third Ashes Test which starts at Edgbaston next Wednesday.

If he is unable to play then Shaun Marsh is likely to take his place in the team.
