Glenn McGrath: 'Australia have hit rock bottom'

Former Australia fast bowler Glenn McGrath believes that his nation have hit "rock bottom" following their second Ashes Test defeat.

England took a 2-0 lead in the series following a 347-run win in the second Test at Lord's last week.

"They say that you have to hit the bottom before you can start to get back up," McGrath wrote in The Guardian. "And that is where this Australia team are right now, rock bottom."

Australia were also dealt a blow when James Pattinson was ruled out for the rest of this summer's Ashes with a back injury.
