Rob McCracken says that Anthony Ogogo must remain calm if he is to defeat number-one middleweight seed Ievgen Khytrov on Thursday.

Team GB's head coach Rob McCracken has said that he is confident Anthony Ogogo can overcome amateur world champion Ievgen Khytrov.

The 23-year-old middleweight takes on the Ukrainian in Thursday's afternoon session following his 13-16 victory over Junior Castillo Martinez of the Dominican Republic.

McCracken said that Ogogo must remain calm if he is to book his place in the quarter-finals, but said that he has all the tools to beat Khytrov.

"The Ukrainian is the world champion and an extremely tough opponent," said McCracken. "It is going to be tough at the Olympic Games whoever you face.

"I think [Anthony] is quietly confident. Anthony has a bit of size, reach and some speed and balance and I think he has every right to be confident. I'm confident he can win for sure. It will be difficult because the Ukrainian is a tremendous boxer.

"Anthony has got to get it right, he has got to be calm, professional and smart. If he is, there is no reason why he can't win because although it is a tough draw we have a really good team."

Khytrov is the number-one seed in the middleweight draw.
