British boxer Qais Ashfaq advances to last 16 in Baku

Team GB's Qais Ashfaq has advanced to the last 16 of the men's bantam (56kg) after victory over Giorgi Gogatishvili in Baku.

The British boxer won on points by a unanimous decision in a close-fought encounter against the Georgian 21-year-old.

The three judges scored the bout 29-28, 29-27 and 30-27, handing 22-year-old Ashfaq all three rounds.

Ashfaq will now face Turkey's Selcuk Eker in the last 16, which will take place on Friday afternoon.
