Nicola Adams to carry Team GB flag at Baku European Games opening ceremony

Boxer Nicola Adams will carry the Great Britain flag at the opening ceremony of the inaugural European Games in Baku on Friday.

Adams is one of three London 2012 gold medallists named in a 160-strong squad for the Games over the next three weeks.

Adams said: "To be representing Team GB at the first ever European Games is a great honour and being selected as the flagbearer will be a truly unforgettable experience."

The other two London gold medallists competing at the Games in Azerbaijan are taekwondo star Jade Jones and canoeist Ed McKeever.
