French boxer 'fears nobody' after win

French boxer Sofiane Oumiha is more confident than ever after defeating Team GB's Luke McCormack at the European Games this afternoon.

Lightweight Oumiha outscored the Briton 10-9 in each round at Crystal Hall to set up a clash with Hungary's Miklos Varga.

"At the beginning it was very hard for me. We arrived in the athletes' village on June 11," said Oumiha, according to the official Baku 2015 website.

"There has been a long wait to start in the competition. It has been boring. I have been playing ping-pong, computer games and training.

"This is my first major championships. I am the French champion, but I have never won anything as big as this. I am here for gold. I fear no-one."

Team GB's remaining hopeful is Joe Joyce, who advanced through to the quarter-finals after a first-round victory earlier today.
