Reece McFadden: "I will get that gold medal"

Scotland boxer Reece McFadden insists that he will pick up a gold medal at this summer's Commonwealth Games.

Scotland boxer Reece McFadden has once more insisted that he will pick up a gold medal at this summer's Commonwealth Games.

The Scot beat Flyweight favourite Andrew Selby in his first bout of the competition on Friday, before overcoming Team England's Charlie Edwards this evening.

McFadden spoke to Sports Mole immediately after the fight and oozed confidence when asked about his displays thus far.

"I will do it again until I win that gold medal. I told you all when I beat Selby that I would beat this kid. I kind of feel like I am repeating myself. I will get that gold medal," said McFadden.

"The key is to keep calm. Neither of my two opponents this summer have looked me in the eyes. It doesn't matter if they stare at me though because I will still beat them. I am in the fittest shape of my life right now and I am ready for a gold medal."

McFadden's next fight is against Oteng Oteng on Tuesday.
