David Price destroys Audley Harrison with a first-round knockout win

Price destroys Harrison in one round

David Price made a huge statement of intent with a devastating knockout victory over Audley Harrison at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

Price wasted no time dominating the Olympic Gold medallist from the outset, following up a clubbing right hand to trap Harrison on the ropes before finishing his opponent with ruthless efficiency.

The referee was left with no choice but to end the contest with more than a minute left on the clock in the first round after Harrison slumped to the canvas.

A quick defeat in a high-profile contest brings the curtain down on Harrison's 11-year professional career.

Roared on by a home crowd of 9,000 including Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, Price defended his British and Commonwealth titles in just 82 seconds to extend his unbeaten record to 14-0.

Price and promoter Frank Maloney took the opportunity to call out domestic rival Tyson Fury in their post-fight interview as the Merseyside man mountain attempts to advance his blossoming career.
