Carl Frampton overcomes Raul Hirales test

Carl Frampton has maintained his unbeaten record at the expense of tough Mexican Raul Hirales.

The Northern Irishman was never really forced out of second gear and fought comfortably off the back foot as Hirales plodded forward.

Frampton, who holds the Commonwealth super-bantamweight title, landed far more punches than his opponent and looked to be one step ahead at every turn.

The fight ended up going to the scorecards, with the judges scoring the contest 120-108, 119-109, 119-109 to hand the 25-year-old a unanimous decision.

The victory sees The Jackal pick up the vacant IBF Inter-Continental super bantamweight strap.
