Gary Buckland produced a commanding performance to beat Paul Truscott and retain his British super-featherweight title.

Buckland, who was unbeaten in his previous six contests, started fiercely and it could have been all over in the second round.

The ropes saved Truscott from crashing to the deck after he was rattled by a stiff right hand from the champion.

The challenger managed to see out the round but was unable to muster an effective reply as Buckland went on to dominate the rounds.

Truscott was eventually sent to the canvas in the tenth round when a left to the body, followed by a crashing right hand, forced him down.

To his credit, Truscott got up but only to face a barrage of punches from Buckland.

The fight went the distance but the result was never in doubt as Buckland won nearly every round on the judges' scorecards to record an impressive one-sided victory.
