Josh Warrington: 'I'm switched on for Edwin Tellez fight'

British featherweight Josh Warrington insists that there will be no complacency when he faces Edwin Tellez on Saturday night.

British featherweight Josh Warrington has insisted that he will need to be "switched on" for Saturday's fight with Edwin Tellez in Berlin.

The bout is intended to be a warm-up bout for a shot at the WBC international title in April, but Warrington, who is undefeated in 19 fights, has revealed that he will be treating the contest the same as any other of his professional outings.

The 24-year-old told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "Even though he's not got an excellent record, he's a fighter that I cannot take lightly.

"If I start doing that, then it doesn't matter who you're in with, boxing is a sport where one punch can change it all.

"I am as switched on as I would be if I was fighting for a title. If there was a banana skin out there, Leeds in April wouldn't be happening. I've got to stay switched on and make sure I do the job properly."

The fight features on the undercard of the WBO super-middleweight rematch between Arthur Abraham and Paul Smith.
