Josh Warrington: 'I have to prove myself against Dennis Tubieron'

British featherweight Josh Warrington admits that he needs to prove himself at world level when facing Dennis Tubieron in Leeds on Saturday night.

British featherweight Josh Warrington believes that Saturday's fight with Dennis Tubieron is his opportunity to prove that he can perform at world level.

Warrington, who is unbeaten in 20 matches, faces the Filipino fighter in front of his home fans in Leeds, and with the WBC international belt at stake, he knows that he must deliver a career-best performance to see off his opponent.

The 24-year-old told reporters: "This is the door to getting on the world stage. I have to show that I belong there, and that will take a great performance.

"Let's see what Dennis brings on Saturday. It could be a chess match or a war, but we have several gameplans. I've had some great wins in the last 18 months. I'm moving on well with great support. I am only 24, I have plenty of time."

During the past year, Warrington has won the European and British titles, as well as defending his Commonwealth belt.
