Frank Warren: 'Frankie Gavin can move to world stage'

Frank Warren thinks Frankie Gavin's unanimous-points win over Junior Witter can move him up to the "world stage".

Frank Warren believes that Frankie Gavin can now move on to the "world stage" following his victory over Junior Witter on Thursday night.

Gavin overcame Witter at York Hall in London to become the new British welterweight champion and Warren reckons that the win can propel his career into the upper echelon of the sport.

"With the Lonsdale belt and his career back on track, he can now look forward to a bright 2013 and try to become Britain's next big thing on the world stage," Warren said in his Boxing Scene column.

"Frankie exorcised his demons on Thursday night and can now start realising his true potential."

Gavin claimed a unanimous-points victory over Witter.
