Andre Ward insists Carl Froch will not 'dictate' where rematch takes place

Ward: 'Froch will not dictate rematch'

Andre Ward has hit back at Carl Froch's calls for the American boxer to fight him in Nottingham by insisting that he will not allow the Brit to 'dictate' anything relating to a possible rematch.

This week, Froch 'dared' Ward to fly over to the UK to compete in a WBA super-middleweight unification fight.

However, Ward, who beat the Brit on points in the final of the Super Six tournament in Atlantic City in 2011, has suggested that he will not meet Froch's demands.

The 31-year-old tweeted: "Looks like Frochy Froch remembered my name all of a sudden. That's good to know. Looks like the old man is still kicking.

"Froch could have gotten this fight years ago, but it took the WBA mandating the fight for him to step up. SMH. This guy. If this fight does happen, Froch is not dictating anything. He must have fell a bumped his head."

Froch is reportedly trying to seal Nottingham Forest's City Ground as a venue.
