Thomas Stalker says that he is happy with his win over Kristian Laight on his professional debut.

Thomas Stalker has said that he is pleased to have started his professional boxing career with a win.

The 28-year-old, who was the Team GB boxing captain at the 2012 Olympics, beat Kristian Laight in a four-round contest at York Hall last night.

The Liverpudlian told Sky Sports News: "I felt a bit flat to be honest and it's going to take a few more fights to get into my groove.

"He's a good journeyman, knows all the tricks and he's learnt me something in there, so I'm happy.

"I'm learning to sink my punches in a bit more, I'm loving it in the gym and I'm going to learn with each fight."

The light-welterweight is due to appear on the undercard for Tony Bellew's fight in Liverpool on March 30.
