Selby: 'Watching Mayweather helped me'

Lee Selby believes that watching Floyd Mayweather up close has helped him become a better boxer.

The Welshman defended his British and Commonwealth featherweight titles with a points victory over Martin Lindsay in Belfast on Saturday, and the 26-year-old thinks that studying the unbeaten Mayweather has improved his game.

"I've watched Floyd Mayweather train and he's the best in the world," said Selby.

"He's gives me plenty of kind words and I've picked up so many tips from him. It's helped me a lot going to America."

Selby extended his professional record to 14-1 with the win over Lindsay.
