Richard Schaefer tips Adrien Broner for pay-per-view stardom

Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer tips Adrien Broner to become a big name in the boxing world, due to the 23-year-old's ability to promote himself.

Golden Boy promotions CEO Richard Schaefer believes that Adrien Broner has the potential to become a high-drawing pay-per-view star of the sport.

The outspoken Broner has been compared to Floyd Mayweather Jnr due to his outlandish nature, and Schaefer feels that Broner can go on to become a big name in the sport.

"I think Adrien Broner is ready to become a PPV star," Boxing Scene quotes Schaefer as saying.

"You look at Juan Manuel Marquez who is a great fighter and I am a big fan, but he is relatively flat. He's a great fighter and I don't want to take anything away from him but you need more than skills and more than talent, you need to be a self-promoter.

"I think Adrien whill have that [ability to self-promote] Frankly with Adrien, the only [other] person I see who has those ingredients is obviously Floyd Mayweather."

Broner won his last fight against Paulie Malignaggi in June via split decision.
