Manny Pacquiao reveals that he turned down £25.5m to face Floyd Mayweather.

Manny Pacquiao has said that he was "embarrassed" by the purse-split offered to him by Floyd Mayweather Jnr.

The Filipino revealed that he personally called the 34-year-old to discuss a possible bout after Mayweather used Twitter to try to engineer a fight on May 5.

However, talks broke down when Mayweather offered him a $40m (£25.5m) lump sum, but wanted to keep the pay-per-view revenue for himself.

"I called Floyd and told him that we need to make this fight happen," said the 33-year-old.

"I said he could have whatever he wants, blood testing, 50/50 split and he said 'Oh, well. I will give you what you want.' Then he mentioned the pay-per-view.

"It was embarrassing to me. He was trying to take advantage of me. It is clear he didn't want to fight."

Pacquiao will now fight Timothy Bradley June 9, while Mayweather will square up to Miguel Cotto on May 5.
