Matthew Macklin's WBC middleweight title eliminator against Jorge Sebastien Heiland is postponed after his trainer Jamie Moore was shot twice in Marbella.

Matthew Macklin's WBC middleweight title eliminator against Jorge Sebastien Heiland has been postponed after his trainer Jamie Moore was shot in Spain.

Moore suffered wounds to his leg and hip following a shooting in Marbella, where he was attending a training camp.

"I am disappointed to have to postpone my fight but in the light of the circumstances and the disruption to my preparation it is the right thing to do," BBC Sport quotes Macklin as saying.

Moore, who is a former European light-middleweight champion, remains in hospital.
