Matthew Macklin to link up with Joe Gallagher?

British middleweight Matthew Macklin appears to have joined forces with former trainer Joe Gallagher.

British middleweight Matthew Macklin could be coached by former trainer Joe Gallagher for his next bout after the pair were pictured together during a training session.

Jamie Moore had been aiding Macklin's preparation for a world title eliminator with Jorge Sebastian Heiland, but the fight was scrapped after Moore was shot twice in Marbella earlier this month.

The 35-year-old has since revealed that he will be unable to resume his duties in the gym for at least six months, leaving Macklin without a trainer for his next fight.

However, it seems likely that Gallagher, who trained the 32-year-old in 2009, will step in to replace Moore after Macklin was seen with two of Gallagher's other fighters, Callum and Stephen Smith.
