Wladimir Klitschko threatens to go to court over Tyson Fury rematch

Wladimir Klitschko threatens legal action following a breakdown in negotiations with Tyson Fury over their October rematch.

Wladimir Klitschko has threatened to go to court over a breakdown in negotiations over his rematch with world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

The 40-year-old had his WBA Super, WBO and IBF titles taken by Fury in their first bout in November last year.

The Ukrainian exercised his option of a rematch, and it was agreed that the pair would go toe to toe in the ring in Manchester on July 9, but it was delayed until October 29 due to an ankle injury sustained by Fury.

Now, Klitschko has threatened to take legal action due to a dispute in negotiations.

Via social media, the 40-year-old said in a video: "Dear fans. I just want to keep you updated on the status quo of my rematch against Fury.

"Unfortunately, Team Fury is trying to change the terms of an already-signed contract multiple times. To protect my own rights and to see the rematch, I'm forced to go to court."

Klitschko delayed his retirement to compete in the rematch.
