Amir Khan: 'Kell Brook isn't on my radar'

British welterweight Amir Khan reveals that domestic rival Kell Brook isn't under consideration to be his next opponent.

British welterweight Amir Khan has insisted that Kell Brook needs to "up his game" to be considered for a huge domestic showdown between the two in the future.

Khan's failure to secure an encounter with Floyd Mayweather resulted in Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn offering the former light-welterweight world champion $5m (£3m) to face the IBF mandatory challenger, but Khan has hinted that he has rejected Hearn's advances.

The 27-year-old told BBC Radio 5 live: "He has to up his game a little bit to get that fight.

"In America, no-one really knows Kell and the biggest boxing market is in America. In the United Kingdom, it would be a huge fight but at the moment, he is not on my radar."

Khan hopes to announce news of his next opponent within the next 14 days with a return to the ring expected in early May.
