Amir Khan: 'I'm on a different level to Devon Alexander'

Khan: 'Alexander is not on my level'

Amir Khan has claimed that Devon Alexander is not on the same level as him ahead of their bout in Las Vegas next Saturday.

The British fighter is hoping that a victory will put him on course to meet Floyd Mayweather Jr next year, and he is confident that he has more than enough weapons to beat Alexander, who is a former WBC and IBF light-welterweight champion and a former IBF welterweight champion.

"I have the better punch power and the better knock-out percentage," Khan told Ringside. "I have a little bit more experience, I believe, in this fight.

"So it's going to be tough but it's a fight that favours me more because if it becomes a boxing match I can out-box Devon. He's a good boxer but he's not on the same level as me.

"I feel strong at this 147 weight plus I have Virgil Hunter in my corner telling me what game-plan to stick to and what technique to use in the fight. I've got a great team around me as well so I've not missed anything out."

Khan secured a third successive victory by beating Luis Collazo in his last fight in May.
