Eddie Hearn reveals Amir Khan demands for Kell Brook fight

Promoter Eddie Hearn reveals that Amir Khan asked for a 80/20 split of the purse for a potential Wembley showdown with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that he is prepared to offer Amir Khan a 60% split of the purse in order to agree terms for a Wembley showdown with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.

On Friday afternoon, Khan took to Twitter to hit back at claims that "middle men" stopped a fight with Manny Pacquiao taking place and to give an update on negotiations with Matchroom representative Hearn and rival Brook, with a date of June 4 being reserved for a potential bout at Wembley Stadium.

However, after Khan criticised Brook's choice of opponent for March 26 - his mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier - the former world super-lightweight champion tweeted Brook's demands, which were immediately denied by Hearn.

Khan's outburst on social media resulted in a response from Hearn, who said that a split of 60-40 in Khan's favour would be enough to get a deal over the line.

After making a return to the ring in March, Khan has signalled his intention to face the winner of the WBC title clash between Danny Garcia and Robert Guerrero after being made mandatory challenger for the belt.

A second meeting with Garcia has always been a main aim of Khan after he lost his WBC and WBA super-lightweight bout with the American in July 2012, and it appears that contest will take place in the summer should Garcia prevail in Los Angeles this weekend.
