Eddie Hearn: 'We're in talks over potential Carl Froch, George Groves fight'

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that talks are taking place to organise a fight between Carl Froch and George Groves.

Hearn, who promotes both fighters, has claimed that the pair were planning to go toe-to-toe next summer, but both professionals are open to entering the ring at some point this year.

"We are in talks regarding a potential blockbuster domestic fight later this year," Hearn told reporters.

"Both fighters have plenty of options and although it's a fight we originally envisaged for next summer, if it makes sense for both fighters, neither has a problem with making it happen."

An announcement regarding the fight is expected to be made next week.
